In the past 2 years the Muscogee County Sheriff’s Office has served the people of this community through 2 floods at the governments center, a fire, a bomb threat and now a national pandemic. Governor Kemp has issued a Shelter in Place Order for the State of Georgia until April 30, 2020. Please know that we are taking every precaution during this unsettling time to protect our citizens, employees, inmates and visitors to the government center.
The National Crisis has led to the Georgia Secretary of State to send out application requests for an absentee ballot and has moved the date for the Primary election to June 9, 2020. I believe the Secretary made the right decision to protect all Georgia voters.
Please follow the Governor’s Order for the safety of your family, friends, neighbors and co-workers. We should all remember those in the medical field, the truck drivers, store clerks , food service workers, and sanitation workers . We owe them a debt of gratitude. Please continue to keep all public safety, medical as well as our elderly loved ones in your prayers.
Know that the Muscogee County Sheriff’s Office is here to serve this community during this critical time. Also know that I am proud to be your Sheriff and work with other leaders throughout the State to address this crisis. We will get through this.
